Daniel Fast: Day 2

Today my tummy felt better, and fuller after meals. I had a rough time at dinner because they ordered Arby's. But I'm staying strong, eating healthy, and spending time with God. I finished reading the Bible all the way through today! It felt so good, and I will start over tomorrow with Genesis. Going to read it in chronological order, instead of straight through.

Daniel Fast- Day 1

Today was ok. I had some tummy issues, but I think I may have gone over the fruit issues. I had a delicious banana, pineapple, and blueberry smoothie. Yummm

Daniel Fast: preparations

Basically on the Daniel Fast all you eat is fruits, vegetables, nuts, and unleavened bread. Also, you can only drink water. The purpose of me doing this fast is not only for me to grow in Christ, but to become a better big sister. I want my sister to know that I am here for her, and that she can tell me anything. I want to grow an unbreakable bond between us, and to cease fighting.

Last night my mother and I went to BJ's and stocked up on health foods. Fruits and veggies oh my! I'm so excited to dig in. I will be posting some recipes for y'all.

Last night I had my "last meal" at chick'fil'a, the greatest meal I could ask for before a fast. Chicken....mmmm....STOP ERINN!!!! I can't wait to be healthy not only in body but in spirit.

Book Review: Ascent from Darkness

Ascent from Darkness by Michael Leehan is a powerful and moving story about how he overcame the control of Satan in his life when he found God's love. Michael lost friends, family, jobs, and trust as he dove deeper into the darkness. Satan had control over his body and spirit. Michael would loose memories of previous nights, and wake up with deep cuts on his body from rituals. Satan had Michael make blood sacrifices, and he gave Michael murderous assignments.

Michael's testimony shows that God's love conquers all sin. It lets readers know that no matter how terrible their sin may be, God will forgive them. It shows readers how gracious and loving God is.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading his story. At moments I had knots in my stomach when I was reading about the noises and voices that Michael would hear when he was alone, and how much of a hold that Satan had on his life. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys reading powerful testimonies, or anyone who feels that feels hopeless and lost and is looking for an answer. The answer is God, and Michael's story proves that God can use anyone for His glory.
